Bringing together the sense of family and support is the goal of our new    innovative 30,000 square foot training facility located at 702 Albert Street, Englewood, OH 45322 (Former Englewood Elementary School).

Starting with a weekly allowance (up to $45 per week) while you attend classes to landing a $50,000 a year job when you graduate

Mechanics teach you to take care of your car. Insurance agents teach you how to insure your car.  Lawyers teach you how to deal with (heaven forbid!) accidents. Business leaders teach you how to get the best deal. We offer Driver's Education during the last month of enrollment.

You've graduated from Griffin Academy, you have your GED, You are enrolled in college, You are certified in 5 building trades, You have a great job, money in the bank and a car. Now what? Griffin Academy makes the apartment hunt, find and leasing of your dream home possible. 

Who, What, When, Where and How

Who is eligible ?

Griffin Academy accepts placements for foster care teens ages 16-17.  Teens , in the custody of ODJFS, must be able to complete the course curriculum.  A complete lists of requirements for admission will be sent to the requesting agency.

Q.   Who is eligible for admission to Griffin Academy?

A.   Foster Care Teens meeting the admission criteria ages 16-17. 


Q.   What geographic area is eligible for enrollment in Griffin Academy?

A.   Foster Care Teens currently placed in Montgomery,  Greene, Preble, Darke, Clark and Miami County.


Q.   What are the Griffin Academy hours of operation?

A.   Classes will be held from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday year round.


Q.   Does a Foster Care Teen have to wait for a new semester to begin classes?

A.   Understanding the nature of Foster Care Placements, Griffin Academy will begin a new "class" every 8 weeks to ensure that ALL eligible Foster Care Teens can begin preparing for successful emancipation from the foster care system without a prolonged delay of services.
